We just had our own earthquake here in Taiwan last night. Magnitude 5.2-6 (depending whose report you read) but it was only a 3 by the time it got to us in Taipei. Wouldn't have been scary at all except for thinking about what happened out your way.
I am very, very pleased with all the help sent by both Taiwan and Japan, and with China's willingness to accept them. I hope at least some better international relations will come out of the tragedy. My company arranged to let people donate a day's pay to be sent to charities for earthquake relief, and I elected to donate that way in order to do my little bit toward peace as well as humanitarian aid.
